The Toledo Rockets (0-0, 0-0 Away) will visit the #18 Arkansas Razorbacks (1-0, 0-0 Home) on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas. The game will televise at 4 PM ET on SECN. The current odds list Arkansas as a 21-point favorite with the over/under set at 55.5.
The Rockets open up their season against #18 Arkansas after their first game got cancelled. The Rockets are projected to win the MAC title in the preseason toll. They start off the season without their star running back Kareem Hunt, who averaged 8 yards per carry last season. He is suspended for the first two games for violating team rules. Phillip Ely will get the start for Toledo and he will have return wide outs, Alonzo Russell and Corey Jones to throw too. The Rockets are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games on field turf and 1-4 ATS in their last five games in September.
Arkansas is coming in off a 48-13 win over UTEP. Brandon Allen went 14 of 18 with 308 yards along with four touchdowns. Alex Collins ran for 127 yards on 12 carries and added a touchdown in the game. Keon Hatcher led receivers with 106 yards on 6 receptions with two of them being for touchdowns. Jared Cornelius had 75 yards with a score and Drew Morgan added one touchdown on a 26 yard reception. The Razorbacks are 6-0 ATS in their last six non-conference games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.
My Pick: Arkansas -21
Arkansas had a stellar outing against UTEP and I think we see more of the same in this game. Toledo is a different team without their star running back and I think they ex-Alabama quarterback may need a week or so before he starts clicking with his new team. I am going with the Razorbacks to get the win and the cover.
